Behind the Scenes: Pole Barn Site Prep in Iowa Winter | Ashlocks Point Construction

When we committed to this 30x40x10' stud frame garage project in Urbana, Iowa, we knew winter construction would have its challenges. What we didn't know was that we'd be working through one of the coldest and snowiest weeks in Iowa history. But here's the thing about quality construction work: sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, and you just have to find a way to make it happen.

In the video above, you'll see where we started a few weeks ago with just the concrete slab in place. Fast forward to this week, and despite the historic weather conditions, we've made incredible progress. The full stud frame structure is standing strong, the roof trusses are completely installed, and this building is really taking shape. Once we get the steel covering on, this garage is going to serve its owners well for decades to come. Working in these conditions isn't easy, but it's exactly what separates contractors who just show up on nice days from those who are committed to keeping projects moving forward.

At Ashlocks Point Construction, we understand that life doesn't stop for bad weather, and neither should your construction project. Whether it's a custom deck or a garage build like this one, we're dedicated to delivering quality work on schedule, no matter what the forecast says. If you've been putting off a project because you're worried about timing or weather delays, give us a call at 319-560-1833. We'll get it done right.
